3 subtle signs you’re headed for burnout

If you catch them early enough, you can take steps to minimize the impact.

Being tired all the time. Losing sleep. Feeling on edge. These are all common signs you may be headed for burnout. (In fact, if you’re experiencing these things regularly, you’re likely already there.)

Once you stop ignoring them, these major symptoms are easy to spot. But there are more subtle signs that indicate you’re on the path to burnout. If you catch them early enough, you can take steps to minimise the impact. Here are three to look for.

  1. Negative expectations: It’s one thing to be easy on yourself during a challenge, but when those thoughts turn into feelings of incompetence, you may be headed toward burnout. Look for increased imposter syndrome. Negative expectations can also include cynicism, withdrawing, and blaming others for everything that’s going on around you.

  2. Feeling underappreciated: Another subtle sign of burnout is starting to believe that your company or personal relationships don’t value you. You may believe your coworkers are being treated better than you are, or you might take offense if your contributions aren’t acknowledged.

  3. Detaching from work: Most people strive to do well in their careers, but when you start to lose your drive and you can recognize it, it can be problematic. You’re numb to what is going on; you don’t care about the outcome of things; you are not invested in the decision being made around you. As a result, you do not feel engaged or stimulated by your work.

These subtle signs can be difficult to recognise as burnout in others, and it’s key to think about the behaviors that are impacting your daily life. Personal awareness and self-reflection are important skills to monitor one’s own well-being. Noticing changes in thought patterns or routines are also things to consider.”

What Coinbase’s Super Bowl Ad Reveals About the Future of Tech, Crypto and Advertising

Will the pandemic finally get Americans to embrace QR codes? | Fortune

In mid February of this year, American cryptocurrency exchange platform, Coinbase, broke the internet with a $14m 60-second Super Bowl ad spot showing nothing more than a QR code bouncing around the screen. Some say it has changed the face of advertising for the 2020s and beyond.

24 hours after this ad appearance, Coinbase shot up from 186th place to second for downloads in the App Store, second only to Peacock among iPhone users. Among finance apps, Coinbase is No. 1.

So, why is it such a genius move? Ad exchange firm Sharethrough, conducted research which found that 79% of TV viewers take out their phones during ad breaks, meaning consumers are already set up to engage with shoppable ads. This, coupled with 76% of viewers admitting to not actively watching ads, leads Sharethrough to believe that CTV QR codes can help advertisers retain audience attention during the commercial break.

For advertisers such as UK retail giant Boots – who experimented with shoppable QR codes for its Christmas 2021 campaign – the reception to Coinbase’s ad has the potential to majorly boost viewers’ interaction with future QR codes.
